Borobudur Buddhist Temple
On May 16, we visited Borobudur, which is a 9th-century Buddhist temple in Magelang, Java, Indonesia. The temple consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome. The central dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa.
The lower levels represent carnal, worldly desires, and each level represents a more spiritual state.
